We are just getting started.

We closed on the properties of Palm Avenue Baptist Church, the public relaunch is set for Sunday, January 31, 2027, and here is what happens next — surveys, serving, and open staff positions.

Hi there! Whether you signed up for our email updates last year, this summer, or just this past Sunday — guess what? We are just getting started. Thank you for your patience and prayers as we waited.

In case you missed it, Pastor Edgar shared with our Idlewild church family the good news that we were able to finally close on the properties of Palm Avenue Baptist Church. You can watch the full video announcement on our site.

NOW WHAT?

The public relaunch of Palm Avenue Baptist Church will be Sunday, January 31, 2027. The anniversary of the 126-year-old church is February 2, 2027. We feel like this date honors that history and also gives us time to prepare well for that Sunday.

In the next two weeks, you and others will receive a short survey to help us understand where you and your family are in the decision-making process of joining the replant team.

In that survey, we will also be asking where you are willing to serve. So we would love for you to begin praying now about this decision. There will be opportunities in childcare, parking, greeting, audio/visual, social media, and more. A preliminary survey is already available at palmavenue.org for those of you who are ready.

We have also posted four open job positions, and we are looking to fill three immediately. These are very exciting days. As you pray about being a part of this step of faith to replant Palm Avenue, know that you are in my prayers. I am also available to answer questions you may have as you consider your next step.
